我對這畫展的想法是
意圖經由顏色來凸顯每個空間(藍、黃、紅室)的不同。
我很期待最後的效果及給參觀者在每個空間所帶來的感覺。
我想體現暖色與冷色的對比及效果。
我想避免掛滿藍色作品的空間
讓人感到太冷、太鬱郁,太「藍調」
而紅色的空間又讓人感到太暖和。
在這裏,對於看到畫的人來說,
視覺上的享受應該比畫的意義更重要些。
所以我此次大部分的作品沒有什麼特別的意義,
如果有的話,
就只是希望給看到的人帶來恬靜、幸福的感覺。
關於創作抽象畫
抽象畫的作品是可以讓人反覆品味的,
希望觀賞者每次都能看到及體會到不同的細節及意境,
經由自己當下生命境界來慢慢體會及發掘作品的深度。
我認爲這過程是個人及畫之間精神上的私人對話,
而不僅僅是視覺上的饗宴。
The initial idea, for this exhibition of
paintings,
was to emphasize the color coding of each room at V.V.G.
('red
chamber', 'yellow chamber', 'blue chamber').
Giving each room a different
atmosphere through color saturation
I was curious about how it would feel to
sit in a room of paintings of predominantly one particular color.

I was also interested in cold and warm
contrasts and tonal effects
that would be expressed in paintings made of such a
limited color pallet.
I did not want a
room of blue paintings to feel too cold, too sad, too 'blue'.
As much as I did not want a room of red
paintings to feel too 'hot', too aggressive.
Another thing that struck me with making a
body of work
with an environment such as VVG in mind was that being a
restaurant
it would somehow stop the importance of 'meaning'
that is so often
looked for in works of art.
I therefore
made work that for the most part is void of meaning,
work that if it is about
anything is only about color for color's sake
with a hope that those colors
will bring joy and a sense of tranquility to the viewers.
About
Abstract Work
Our relationship, as a viewer of an abstract painting,
should grow with time, the depth and meaning of a work revealing
itself
slowly through constantly coming back to the same work anew;
new feelings and appreciations for the work
developing through experiencing the same work
from different states of mind or life state.
Making the experience of viewing greatly personal.
Touching our very spirit/soul/essence, not only delighting the eyes.
